John Richardson

John Richardson was the founding executive director of the Blackstone Ranch Institute, which has provided early-stage grants to a diversity of environmental and sustainability initiatives. While he was executive director, Blackstone Ranch Institute was a co-founder of Exponent Philanthropy’s Catalytic Philanthropy Program; the country’s largest membership organization of small-scale philanthropists. Prior to his work in philanthropy, John investigated complex humanitarian relief operations globally for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), taught international politics at the University of New Mexico, and served as a volunteer in the United States Peace Corps on the west coast of Africa during the 1970s. He lives in Taos, New Mexico.
